Joanne Love
Gisborne/scotland

Joanne has been living in New Zealand for about seven years now. The extended family moved out here from Scotland and it is her Scottish lilt that captivates you when you first meet her. Joanne doesn't like to put herself forward too much…she muses as to whether she should have a profile or not. Art has been something that has fascinated Joanne since her school days, and she has been doing it off and on ever since. She always wanted to attend Art School, but the practicalities of life kept her from committing wholeheartedly to an artists life.

Joanne is inspired by Celtic designs and Art Deco/Art Nouveau. Most especially the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the great Glaswegian architect, designer and painter. She mostly just "paints stuff and gives it away, because you can't charge for a gift". Luckily Joanne has a day job, or one suspects she might have be an incredibly poor artist!

Interestingly Joanne's daughter also has that creative touch, and intends following a career path into animation, a move which is supported wholeheartedly.
