“My artistic fate was sealed at an early age when I was successful in winning the Tux National Dog Show Poster Competition. Accompanied by my Mother, we were flown from Blenheim to Wellington, where my award was presented by radio personality Lindsay Yeo and his sidekick Buzz O’Bumble.”
Since graduating in Visual Communications from UNITEC School of Design in 1994, Martin went on to tutor there for five years, with a focus upon studio practice and typography. Concurrently, Martin established National Treasures Design with his partner Tania Eruatua Short. National Treasures has been largely concerned with work for social causes, arts publicity, identity design, interior design, and public art.
In addition to visual communications consultation, Martin is also available for one-on-one critiques, project analysis, and professional development feedback.
