Gisborne Music Competition, From November 26th 2007, Gisborne War Memorial Theatre

The Gisborne Music Competition week features individual performances, concerts, recitals given by outstanding young musicians 16 - 25 years. Open to the public, it presents a great opportunity to witness performances by international and New Zealand competitors from the UK, Switzerland, Thailand, Singapore, China, Japan, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Monday 26th / Tuesday 27th / Wednesday 28th (Round 1) / Friday 30th (Round 2)
3 sessions daily, each recital is approximately 25 minutes long.

Morning 9.30am
Afternoon 2.00pm
Evening 7.00pm

Saturday December 1st
9am MASTERCLASS
This masterclass is given by competition jurors, Alexa Still and Mark Menzies, and is open to all interested musicians.

12.30pm OUTDOOR CONCERT at the Rose Gardens/Lawson Field/Riverside

All round one and two performances, and the open air concert are Free of Charge.
A gift to the people of Gisborne from the organisers, and a great chance for those locally to share in a week of solo recitals given by outstanding young performers on orchestral instruments.
